New BEV registrations are stagnating in Sweden

Since July 1, 2018, Sweden has had its own funding program for cars and light trucks/buses with CO2 emissions of a maximum of 60 g/km. When newly registered, these vehicles receive a climate bonus as a purchase incentive of 60.000 Swedish krona (approx. 5.900 euros / June 2021). All funding has been canceled and the BEV market is now being reorganized.

Climate bonus has expired

In September, some tightening of the bonus-malus system for 2022 was announced. This means that further shifts in the car market are to be expected next year. Already this year, one in four newly registered vehicles was rechargeable. The funding program for the climate bonus has now expired. Accordingly, the market will be reorganized based on the price-performance ratio of BEV vehicles.

In Sweden Of course, the manufacturer Volvo has a home bonus.
