The fifth generation of the Subaru Forester combines a traditional vehicle concept with the EyeSight emergency braking system and a variety of driver assistance systems. The mild hybrid variant e-Boxer achieves the current Euro 6d emissions standard with the renewed emission control. The off-road station wagon reveals its all-wheel drive qualities in the test.

Jeep Renegade 1.5 GSE 48V mild hybrid on test. Since 2018, Jeep has provided the new-generation Renegade with a significant update and has been offering a current engine with a mild hybrid system since spring 2022. While Jeep started out with large-volume 3- or 4-liter engines in the past, the current focus is on downsizing in the engine segment and electrification will probably take place in the near future.

For the Fiat 500 Hybrid, Fiat relies on a completely new three-cylinder gasoline engine with a belt starter generator that works in the 12 volt electrical system and is combined with a compact lithium-ion battery. 51 kW (70 hp) are made available from one liter of displacement. The engine runs much smoother than the high-speed 2-cylinder models and meets the Euro 6d emission class. The automatic start-stop system is less vibration than the four-cylinder gasoline engine.
