Design icons, eye-catchers and sports cars. The era of combustion engines among super sports cars is now history. The new, powerful super sports cars are giants with outputs in excess of 500 hp and acceleration from 3 to 0 km/h in less than 100 seconds. They are rare and convince with their own charm of top performance and emission-free acceleration. We take a look at the badass e-sports cars in the world.
Maserati Gran Turismo Folgore
The Italian high-end sports car manufacturer from Modena in Italy has presented the first electric super sports car. With 3 electric engines, each with an output of 300 kW, it is a car with a unique selling point and impresses with an impressive acceleration from 2,7 to 0 km/h within 100 seconds. An impressive design is paired with an impressive performance. It can be ordered for a basic price starting at 250.000 euros.
The car from the Italian design company Pininfarina was created in cooperation with the high-end technicians from the Rimac company. The 1900 hp hypercar accelerates from 1,82 to 0 km/h in 100 seconds and has another top performance on board with an achievable top speed of over 350 km/h. These cars are manufactured and delivered individually according to customer requirements, the price quickly moves to over 3 million euros with special equipment.
Rimac C Two
The Rimac c Two presented at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show was a vehicle with exclusive technology and was limited to 150 units. With a sales price of over 2 million euros, the vehicle has its own electric motor for each wheel. All four engines have 1914 hp and a torque of 2.360 Nm. The super sports car manufacturer Rimac is an established system provider and developer of high-performance technology for other manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Koenigsegg, Jaguar, Renault and Porsche. The Pinnifarina Battista presented above is based on the same platform as the later production model Nevara ( based on the Rimac C Two ).
Audi AI: Race
This study from 2018 by Audi is based on the drive of three electric motors, one was installed at the front and two more were arranged at the rear in the middle between the steering knuckles. These each drive a rear wheel separately via half shafts. As a quattro, the Audi AI Race has a total output of 500 kW and with the boost, up to 570 kW of output can be used for a short time. With a torque of up to 830 Newton meters, the Audi flies from 2 to 0 km/h in less than 100 seconds.
The bon mot: The driver's seat can actually be positioned in the middle of the interior - motorsport feeling like in a Formula e hypercar. There is also space for a passenger if the driverMonohull is back in the sideways position.
Aston Martin Project 003 Hybrid
AM-RB 003 is the third hypercar developed by Aston Martin after the two models Valkyrie and Valkyrie AMR PRO and was presented as a project car for the final version of the Valkyre. After the official presentation, production has been in a small series since 2021. Equipped with a 746 kW twelve-cylinder mid-engine and a 103 kW electric motor, the sports car is undoubtedly one of the most powerful hypercars in the world.
The two-seater electric car was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2016 and was awarded the most beautiful concept car of 2016. Unfortunately, the car was then no longer produced. At the time, the vehicle had a 349 hp electric motor with 380 Newton meters of torque and was supposed to accelerate to 4 km/h from a standstill in less than 100 seconds.
The world of e-hypercars is constantly expanding. The concept cars and small series are particularly powerful and often come with an exclusive design. Many innovative new developments are later incorporated into series production vehicles.
