The mobile use of hydrogen is a strategic future market. The collaboration between Chart Industries, Inc., an engineering design innovator and manufacturer of clean energy and industrial gas equipment, and Nikola Corporation, a manufacturer of zero-emission trucks, creates a new brand in the hydrogen market, HYLA. The focus is on the development of mobile and modular hydrogen filling stations, liquid hydrogen tanks and transport trailers.
Nikola has already started working with Chart Industries. According to Nikola, the first orders have already been placed with the order for storage tanks for liquid hydrogen, mobile and modular filling stations and trailers for the transport of liquid hydrogen. Now, with the founding of the HYLA brand, a long-term partnership is being sought. On the basis of a jointly signed development agreement, innovative solutions for hydrogen electric vehicles are to be sought and developed together.

Ambitious goals are in the foreground: Via the HYLA brand, every station within the planned hydrogen network should offer an efficient hydrogen refueling solution for the commercial truck industry. One element is Chart Industries' latest design of liquid hydrogen haulage trailers. This trailer can be towed directly by the hydrogen truck.

After the tough early years, Nikola has taken important steps for commercial hydrogen trucks by concentrating on the Coolidge production site and the new cooperation with Chart Industries.
