Mobility apps 2018 - fromAtoB and moovel

fromAtoB - long-distance travel app

fromAtoB not only shows train, bus and flight information, but also offers the option of including carpooling such as BlaBla Car in route planning. The fastest or cheapest trip can be easily determined and booked directly in the app.

This is also the big advantage of the app. Once you have found the right connection for the destination, the ticket for the means of transport can be booked directly in the app. FromAtoB can also display savings offers and compare the providers for the individual connections and find the cheapest offers.
The app has a comparatively simple structure: It starts directly with route planning - there is no need for a map. When determining the price, the user can enter personal data such as age or discounts such as BahnCard and, thanks to the filter, also the maximum number of transfer points. However, it should be noted that local public transport is not included. fromAtoB specializes in long-distance travel and so only long-distance buses are displayed - but these are often much cheaper than traveling by train and so some real bargains can be discovered and booked in the app with various partners such as Flixbus or Megabus.
Once the right connection for the desired travel destination has been determined, the ticket can be purchased directly in the app. This not only applies to buses, trains and plane tickets, but also to booking a lift. fromAtoB works with BlaBla Car and actually searches
Quickly find out the ridesharing options to the travel destination, which is not only a particular advantage in terms of price, but also benefits the environment. With Deutsche Bahn tickets, the journey can even be booked 180 days before the start of the journey and saved in the app.
FromAtoB is a sensible app for long-distance travel, which is particularly notable for the included ticket purchase and price promotions.

moovel

moovel is a mobility app that can be used to call up information on local public transport throughout Europe and to book and pay for it. The booking and payment system applies to car sharing vehicles from the provider car2go, taxis from the provider mytaxi and tickets for local public transport in Hamburg and Stuttgart, as well as tickets from Deutsche Bahn.
When the app is started, the map view opens. As soon as you have zoomed into the desired area, the icons for the individual means of transport are displayed on the very clear map. These are very clear and easy to understand. Click on an icon to open the relevant information: departure times for buses and trains, available cars for the car2go app, available bikes for bike rental or taxi information
options are displayed. The desired means of transport can also be booked, reserved and paid for straight away. The timetable information, which shows all departure times in the immediate vicinity of the user, is particularly practical. Once a trip has been booked, the connection is saved directly on the device so that it can easily be called up again offline.
If you are logged in as a user, trips, tickets or noted connections can also be saved so that they can be easily accessed again. The driver's license data, which is essential for using the car sharing services, can be uploaded via the user account. In Stuttgart, the app offers another special feature: on particulate matter alarm days, VVS tickets cost 50 percent less in the entire valid area via app - with a little luck
even completely free.
The biggest advantage of moovel is the booking and payment function - it really helps a lot.
