The Renault Twingo Electric was previously only available as a special Vibes model. Now Renault has announced the prices and trim levels. As with the Zoe, the equipment variants can be ordered in the three stages Life, Zen and Intens as well as the special Vibes model. The new price list now also provides information on all equipment options. The new basic model Life starts at 21.790 euros and is fully eligible. With the environmental bonus, the list price is reduced again by a whopping 9.000 euros.
In the basic model there is only the basic equipment without important equipment details such as radio, reversing camera or the central information display. The motorization with an 82 HP electric motor and a compact 22 kWh battery pack is identical in all equipment variants. Renault specifies the range at 190 kilometers. With a turning circle of 8,6 meters, the Twingo proves to be a brisk companion for the city.
One level higher than the “Zen” model, the customer then receives, among other things, automatic air conditioning, the Easy Link infotainment system with a 7 inch touchscreen and a height-adjustable driver's seat and a height-adjustable steering wheel. The power windows and a light and rain sensor are also part of the equipment package.
Equipment variant Twingo Intens costs 24.690 euros
Above that, the “Intens” model ranks for 24.690 euros. This model is also equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel and cruise control. At a later date, the "Life" version for 21.790 (11.790 euros) completes the Twingo program.
At the start of 2020, the compact e-runabout in the small car segment was initially only available as a “Vibes” special model with 16-inch rims, a large touchscreen and a few design extras. This special version remains on offer and costs 25.890 euros. This also includes tinted rear and side windows and heated front seats.
With the Twingo Electric, Renault is expanding its portfolio for electric cars. With the Zoe, the French carmaker currently has the most popular electric car in Germany on offer. The Zoe had 30.381 new registrations in the last registration year. Renault has thus tripled the new registrations of its popular Stromer compared to 2019.
But the proportion of hybrid cars will also be continuously expanded in the coming years. The models Captur Plug-in-Hybrid, Mégane Plug-in-Hybrid and Clio Hybrid are already available. The new Arkana Hybrid and the new Mégane 5-door plug-in hybrid are expected in the portfolio for the coming model year. With the Spring, the first all-electric model is being brought onto the market at Renault subsidiary Dacia.
With the small car Twingo as an electric car, Renault rounds off the lower end of the electric range. With the impressive environmental bonus, it is particularly useful as a city runabout. The small parking space and the small turning circle have some advantages in the tight parking spaces in the city. In terms of price, it is definitely in the sector of compact petrol models.
