Opel is banking on new signals in electromobility

It has been clear since last year that Stellantis is increasingly focusing on the electrification of car and minibus models for the Peugeot, Citroen and Opel brands. The combustion engines are now only obsolete models in the coming years. Opel specified the plans again at the beginning of the year. This year, the Opel Combo Life, Vivaro Combi and Zafira Life models can now only be ordered with an electric drive.

EXIT - the global automobile manufacturer's electric car offensive

The planned innovations in the Euro 7 standard from 2025 is a challenge for all global manufacturers. In the first half of 2021, most manufacturers have already set their exit scenarios from the internal combustion engine with a specific date following the announcements made in recent years. As a discontinued model, the combustion engine will only be of interest to car markets without clear specifications for the manufacturer. A look at the exit scenarios of the traditional manufacturers shows clear differences.

World premiere of the Subaru Solterra

At Subaru, the turning point away from the traditional boxer engine will be heralded in 2022. With the world premiere of the new Solterra, a completely new path has been taken into the BEV world. A major step away from the pure on- and off-road SUV was also taken. A timeless, modern design is expressed in the striking hexagonal grille and is continued in striking lines with clear refractive edges. The Solterra was built on the Subaru Global platform modified for BEV vehicles.

Hyundai Kona Electric Facelift 2021 Review

Hyundai has been using larger battery packs in the Kona-E since the 2020 model year and thus better ranges in everyday life. The first successes came with 14.008 E-Konas sold last year. In addition to the short journeys, the completely redesigned compact SUV with easier entry and exit and the slightly raised seating position offers contemporary clarity and enough space for longer trips on vacation. With the facelift for 2021 there were still some optical and technical updates. In the summer test with the large 64 kWh battery pack, we took a close look at its suitability for long journeys.

E-Niro goes into the new model year with upgrades

At the Consumers Electronic Show in Las Vegas in January 2018, Kia gave an outlook on its electromobility strategy and showed the Niro EV concept vehicle. The battery-electric version of the Niro crossover model is already one of the most popular SUV models in the BAFA statistics. In the meantime, 204 of the e-Niro Spirit 2020 model year 3.475 alone have received the environmental bonus (as of July 1, 2021)
