With the S90, Volvo continues to have a traditional sports sedan as a plug-in hybrid in its portfolio. Under the hood is the four-cylinder turbo engine with 228 kW (310 hp) for the front axle and a 107 kW (145 hp) electric motor for the rear axle. With a total of 709 Newton meters of torque as system output, the sports sedan is a sufficiently equipped powerhouse.

With the Across, Suzuki has expanded its portfolio with a large-format model as a plug-in hybrid. The Across project grew out of a partnership between Toyota and Suzuki. The mutual marketing of passenger cars saves development costs and expands the opportunities for new customer groups for both car brands. While Suzuki focuses on mild hybrid technology, hybrid technology is offered in the Across in cooperation with Toyota.

The second generation of the ASX, introduced in 2023, inherits the previous model built since 2010. While the predecessor still had all the Mitsubishi genes, the new generation for the European market is a rebadged Renault Captur with the Mitsubishi brand logo and an adapted radiator grille. As early as 2016, the F-Pace celebrated its market launch as the first SUV model and with the 2021 facelift the plug-in hybrid was presented as a supplement to the conventional drive. While the introduction of an SUV probably represented a break in style for the traditionalists, for Jaguar it was a departure into new buyer segments that had previously been served by other premium manufacturers.
