As early as 2016, the F-Pace celebrated its market launch as the first SUV model and with the 2021 facelift the plug-in hybrid was presented as a supplement to the conventional drive. While the introduction of an SUV probably represented a break in style for the traditionalists, for Jaguar it was a departure into new buyer segments that had previously been served by other premium manufacturers.
With the Across, Suzuki has expanded its portfolio with a large-format model as a plug-in hybrid. The Across project grew out of a partnership between Toyota and Suzuki. The mutual marketing of passenger cars saves development costs and expands the opportunities for new customer groups for both car brands. While Suzuki focuses on mild hybrid technology, hybrid technology is offered in the Across in cooperation with Toyota.
Hardly any other vehicle combines history and off-road characteristics as much as the Jeep Wrangler. Its terrain is clearly rough terrain and the special challenges are probably also the motivation for drivers to start the adventure with the legendary four-wheel drive vehicle. But the Wrangler also has to bow to the dictates of CO2 reduction. And so it follows downsizing and electrification with a current model as a plug-in hybrid. The drives can now be ordered to meet the new requirements for reducing emission values with mild hybrid engines and now also as plug-in hybrids.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross radiates its own character in the selection of city SUVs with its own accents. An almost usual, powerful radiator grille is emphasized by narrow LED lamps, strong lines and planks on the sides emphasize the wedge shape and large-format 18-inch wheels let it roll calmly on its everyday use. The current Eclipse is striking and unmistakable. We drove it in the winter test as a plug-in hybrid.
