Since July 1, 2018, Sweden has been running its own funding program for cars and light trucks / buses with CO2 emissions of a maximum of 60 g / km. These vehicles receive a climate bonus of 60.000 Swedish kronor (around 5.900 euros / June 2021) when they are newly registered. However, the upper limit of the climate bonus may not exceed 25% of the vehicle's value.
Since the introduction of the Volvo XC40 as a compact SUV in 2017, sales figures in Europe have increased steadily from year to year. The purely electric SUV version combines the zero-emission drive with a sophisticated armada of assistance systems. Volvo wants to continue to set the safety standards in automotive engineering and is therefore upgrading the current cars with driver assistance systems and noticeably increasing occupant protection. In the relatively mild winter, we were able to extensively experience the purely electric and probably future-oriented technology of the Volvo XC40.

The e-car boom in Norway has brought very different winners into focus among manufacturers. The manufacturer, which can deliver electric cars in the premium segment, is at the top of the registration statistics because of the high tax savings. The market is very dynamic, and high-quality electric cars are in demand.
After large-format SUV models, Volvo has also equipped the more compact XC40 with a plug-in hybrid drive. With a market share in Germany of 1,8% for new registrations in Germany in the first half of 2020, customers are primarily focusing on the XC models. The SUV is still an unbroken trend in the automotive market.
The all-electric version of the Volvo XC40 will be presented in October. The Swedish automobile manufacturer is presenting its first all-electric car based on the compact premium SUV. Volvo promises to put one of the safest cars on the road through appropriate measures.
